Steve Tarantino started out as a Blind Man customer back in 1992 not long after Jay Stanphill began the professional blind cleaning business. As a successful Sonoma County Real Estate agent, and local business entrepreneur, Steve saw the value and opportunity in the service Jay offered. Each time he saw Jay, Steve would remind him that if he ever wanted to retire and/or sell the business, he would love to talk to him. And so Jay did. Today Steve maintains a rewarding career as a Management Specialist for United Parcel Service, Realtor with Heritage Realty in Windsor, and along with his son Christopher, continues to operate ‘The Blind Man’ business in the same manner and fashion as Jay and Louise have.

The BLIND Man on-site Mobile Blind Cleaning & Sales, was purchased in September, 2013 by the current owner, Steve Tarantino. The company was originally founded by Jay Stanphill. After retiring from the US Postal Service in April 1991, Jay looked for a second career so as to keep busy and active. He bought a mobile blind cleaning rig, brought it to Sonoma County, and began cleaning blinds as The Blind Man Cleaning in May, 1991. In 1993, Jay married Louise and she joined him in the business. In 1995, they added selling window coverings to the business. Together, they built a successful small business by becoming the only on-site mobile blind cleaning service that also offered their customers the convenience of minor repairs, sales and installations. After 22 years of establishing thousands of relationships through cleaning and selling blinds throughout Sonoma County, Jay and Louise decided it was time to retire. Steve Tarantino, one of their happy clients, was thrilled with the opportunity to purchase the professional blind cleaning service company.
